Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has taken aim at Kylian Mbappe, but has left the door open for the Frenchman to join the club in the future.
Los Blancos have been pursuing Mbappe for some time, with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain scheduled to expire this summer. The La Liga heavyweights were confident in their ability to persuade him to join them on a free move to the Spanish capital.
However, they were left red-faced ahead of PSG's final match of the season when Mbappe revealed that he would be staying in Paris. He signed a new three-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions, angering Madrid.
However, Perez has now opened the door to a future transfer for the superstar, who has long been a target for Real Madrid. Despite his long-running chase of Mbappe, he insisted that he 'didn't want' the present version.
"I've never claimed Mbappe and Real Madrid are done for good. That is something I never stated. Many things can change in three years. Mbappe, on the other hand, is not someone I want. The last one isn't the Kylian we were hoping for.
Real Madrid will always be willing to buy players who recognize that no one is more important than the club. There will be no more signings for the time being. But, then, we'll see what happens; summer is a lengthy season.

Despite his criticism of Mbappe, Perez defended the French international, insisting that he was not to fault for his unexpected U-turn. Rather, the president of Real Madrid went for French President Emmanuel Macron and PSG's big pockets.
