Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates for different national executive posts braved the rains in Accra Wednesday to register their nominations at the party's headquarters.
Market ladies peddled NPP memorabilia in the rain, as fans chanted and danced to music to welcome their candidates to file their nominations.
All 52 candidates who received nomination forms filed to run in the 2022 elections, which will be place at the Accra Stadium from July 15 to 17.
Chairmanship
Gifty Ama Asantewaa Ayeh, also known as Daavi Ama, will compete for the job of chairman against Prof. Christopher A. Akumfi; Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Stephen Asamoah Boateng; Sammy Crabbe; Akwasi Osei Adjei; Joseph Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewaa Asantewa George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah and Joseph Ayikoi Otoo
Eleven people applied for the role of national vice chairman.
Edmond Oppong Peprah, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, McJewells J. Annan, Rita Asobayire, Michael Omari Wadie, Kwaku Nkansah, and Kinston Akomeng Kissi are the individuals in question.
Danquah Smith, Ismeal Yahuza, Nuworsu Ken-Wuud, and Alfred T. Boye are the others.
Secretary-General
Justin Kodua Frimpong, Musah Iddrisu Superior, Frederick Opare Ansah, Charles O. Bissue, and Ramseyer Agyemang-Prempeh will compete against the incumbent General Secretary, John Boadu.
E. Mary Posch-Oduro, Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah, Dr Charles Dwamena, and Dr I. I. Yussif Tedem are among those vying for the role of national treasurer.

Kate Gyamfua, the current women's organiser, would face competition from Hajia Sawudatu Saeed, Ellen Ama Daaku, and Akosua Serwaa Bonsu for the position of National Youth Organiser, while Prince Kamal Gumah, Salam Mustapha, Abanga Yakubu Fusani, Michael Osei Boateng, and Karikari Klinsman Mensah would compete for the position of National Youth Organiser.
Context
The National People's Party (NPP) began accepting nominations for different national offices on Monday, June 13 and ended the process yesterday.

Mr. Asamoah Boateng believes the party requires a situational leader to address the plethora of issues it faces, particularly at the polling and constituency levels.
"I'm offering myself to serve the party's foot troops and to shatter the eight we've been discussing," he continued.
He also stated that he has a strategy in place to deal with the party's internal issues in order to fight their biggest opponents, the National Democratic Congress.
Boadu, John
Mr Boadu was hopeful of being re-elected as General Secretary and working to bring the NPP together.
"We've worked hard to get the party this far, so it'd be tough for us to be part of any division agenda," he stated.
Superior Musah
Mr Iddrisu remarked after completing his paperwork that his objective was to enhance the party's administration and make the party headquarters politically active by involving party central members.
