Sweden's Mondo Duplantis combat through rain and cold to rule the men's pole vault at the Oslo Diamond League on Thursday, while home most loved Jakob Ingebrigtsen dashed to triumph in the mile.
As huge pieces of Europe prepared in unexpectedly hot circumstances, a drenched Duplantis came in at 5.60m and cruised over 5.80m with his nearest equals, the Norwegian sets of Sondre Guttormsen and Pal Haugen Lillefosse, both crashing out at 5.86m.
Duplantis cleared 5.92m before then establishing another meet record of 6.02m, a full 22cm in front of the field.

Canada's Olympic 200m gold medallist Andre de Grasse guaranteed the distinctions in the 100m, timing a season's best of 10.05sec to edge Briton Reece Prescod by 100th 100th.
"I realize my speed is returning," said De Grasse. "The thing that matters will be that beginning and the initial 30 meters.
"I'm really happy with my most memorable success of the time, a season's ideal, however I realize I actually have several things to chip away at."
Devon Allen's offered to race the rest of the 110m obstacles season with sub-13 second times after his third quickest time in history in New York last week (12.84) came acropper, despite the fact that his 13.22sec was sufficient to come out on top in the race.

"It makes a big difference to take the gathering record, next I will do the public preliminaries and prepare for the big showdowns, and afterward attempt to return well for the European titles, so it will be a really bustling summer yet I'm prepared for the test - I need to continue to run quick and get a few decorations."
Grenada's Kirani James, the previous world and Olympic hero, won the men's 400m in 44.78sec from Botswana's Isaac Makwala.
Furthermore, there was a British one-two in the ladies' 800m, Olympic silver medallist Keeley Hodgkinson timing a season's best of 1:57.71 to guarantee the triumph from Laura Muir.
Hodgkinson's spotlight was quickly set on the Eugene words and American Athing Mu, who asserted gold in Tokyo.
