The 32-year-old Wales star is looking for consistent playing time ahead of the World Cup this winter.
Bale appears to be open to reuniting with Mourinho after their time together at Spurs in the 2020/21 season.
Bale scored 16 goals across all competitions during that season.
Along with former Chelsea player Tammy Abraham, he would provide Mourinho with another alternative up top.
After periods together at Manchester United and Chelsea, the Special One has already pounced on a former player in Nemanja Matic.
However, Roma aren't the only team interested in signing Bale this summer.
Spurs are apparently keeping an eye on the forward for a THIRD stint in north London.
Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest, who were just promoted, are all rumored to be interested.
Meanwhile, Bale's local club, Cardiff City, is attempting to persuade him to make a sensational switch to the Championship.
Getafe, Real Madrid's local rival, too claims to have been approached about signing Bale.
However, the ace insists that he is not in a hurry to make a decision about his future.
"The World Cup influences it," Bale said last week. Any player will be looking forward to the World Cup because it is a huge tournament that everyone wants to participate in and put their skills to the test. I want to be as fit as possible heading into the World Cup. My body will get more robust and healthier once I start playing regular football." When you're in and out of a team, it's quite challenging. "All I need to do now is play some games," she says. I'm not in football for the money, certainly. I want to be playing to maintain my fitness for the competition and to assist the club where I am now a member.
"It'll be a win-win situation for whatever I go to because I'll be playing, hopefully well, and getting ready for the World Cup." I haven't had any (conversations) as of yet. Because it's just been five days after qualifying, I haven't given it much thought.
"I'll have time to communicate with my wife, family, and agent over my summer vacation."
After the internationals are over, I'll have those discussions and then pick where I want to be.
"I have no clue if it will be six months, a year, or two years." I'm going to sit down and think about what interests me the most and what I want to do."
