Many Manchester United fans believe Wayne Rooney is the greatest player in the club's history.

Rooney won five Premier League titles with United, including three in a row, as well as one Champions League, one FA Cup, and four League Cups.

Rooney captained United for a few years near the end of his career, winning the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, and the Europa League while doing so.

He's also the club's all-time best goal scorer, with 253 goals in 13 years at the club.

The Englishman is regarded as one of the most prolific Premier League strikers of all time, with 208 goals, second only to Alan Shearer on the league's all-time top goal scorers list.

Wayne Rooney, a former Manchester United striker, was chosen by Shearer .

Wayne, on the other hand, isn't the only one in his family who can score goals.

Kai Rooney, Rooney's 12-year-old son, is currently a member of United's academy and had a fantastic season in 2021-22.

Kai Rooney scored 56 goals for United's under-12s last season, according to the Daily Star, while also helping his teammates 28 times.

Last season was a memorable one for Rooney, who will hopefully progress through United's academy ranks in the coming years.

There are some additional past and present United players that have a family member in the academy, in addition to Wayne's kid.

The son of former United midfielder Nemanja Matic played for the Red Devils' academy last season.

Shola Shoretire's younger brother, who plays for United's Under-23s, is also a United academy player.

Shola is a promising young player who, following a cameo against Crystal Palace in the final game of the season, should see more first-team action under Erik ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., Cristiano Ronaldo's elder son, also plays for the United academy after leaving Juventus following Cristiano Ronaldo's dramatic comeback to Old Trafford last summer.

During Ronaldo's stint in Spain, he also played for Real Madrid.

United's academy has produced several outstanding players over the years.

With players like Hannibal and Kai Rooney presently making headlines in the academy, we might very well be witnessing the start of the next great United academy product's history.
