Sadio Mane's six-year spell at Anfield is coming to an end, with the Liverpool forward set to join Bayern Munich after the German champions and Kop bosses finally reached an agreement.

Liverpool refused to break their wage structure, to make Sadio Mane their highest paid player

Sadio Mane has agreed to join Bayern Munich for £35.1 million after the Reds agreed to trade him.

During face-to-face talks between the clubs yesterday, Liverpool accepted Bayern's third offer of £27.5 million up front plus £7.6 million in add-ons, bringing an end to Mane's brilliant six years at Anfield. Julian Ward, Liverpool's sporting director, reached an agreement with Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern Munich's sporting director, who travelled to Merseyside yesterday to finalize the deal.

The Reds turned down Bayern's original bids of £25 million and £30 million, which contained ludicrous add-ons such as winning three Champions Leagues in a row and Mane winning three Ballon d'Ors in a row.

Liverpool demanded £42.5 million for the striker, but the two sides came to an agreement on a price. Mane, who is presently on vacation in Senegal, will now fly to Munich for his physical before completing his deal.

Liverpool paid Southampton £34 million for Mane in 2016 and could make a tiny profit on the African superstar. They will believe they have gotten the best offer possible after Mane told them he wanted to depart after their Champions League Final defeat three weeks ago.

Mane's Anfield contract had only 12 months left on it when he orally committed to a three-year agreement with Bayern Munich worth a rumoured £250,000 per week, leaving Liverpool with little negotiating power. Mane had demanded to become Liverpool's highest earning in order to sign a new contract, but Liverpool were unwilling to slash their compensation structure in order to keep a player who turned 30 in April.

Sadio Mane is Liverpool's highest-paid player, but the club will not deviate from their salary structure.

Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica earlier this week in a potentially club-record £85 million move, and his arrival signaled the start of a new era for the Reds. His departure puts an end to Liverpool's renowned front three of him, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino, who might all leave when their contracts expire next summer.

Liverpool fans are disappointed to see Mane depart because he was a vital figure in Jurgen Klopp's success, scoring 120 goals in 269 appearances to help the Reds win the Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Following the arrivals of Ajax duo Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazrouai last week, Mane will become Bayern Munich's third signing of the summer window. Liverpool's summer activities appear to be coming to an end,Nunez will be joined at Anfield by Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay, both of Aberdeen.
