Right Reverend Isaac Kwame Boateng, the Akyem Oda Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana, has encouraged New Patriotic Party (NPP) workers to avoid greed, arrogance, and self-centredness in order to improve the party's prospects of winning the key 2024 general election.

He stated that in order for the party to fulfill its long-held goal of breaking the eight-year electoral jinx, activists must work diligently and attempt to attract on board fence-sitters and members who were dissatisfied with the party's operations.

Sermon

Last Sunday, Rt Rev. Boateng made the announcement at the Eastern Regional NPP's unity and thanksgiving service in Akyem Oda.

Leading members of the NPP, Members of Parliament, Municipal and District Chief Executives, and regional and constituency executives from around the area attended the occasion.

Dignitaries

Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, the Senior Presidential Advisor, Madam Abena Osei Asare, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Madam Abena Osei Asare, the Deputy Minister of Education, Madam Gifty Twum Ampofo, and the Executive Secretary of the National Labour Commission, Mr Ofosu Asamoah, were among the dignitaries who attended the function.

Rt Rev. Boateng exhorted party activists and office bearers to strive for greater sacrifices for the development of Ghanaians in addition to promoting peace and unity within the party.

"For the sake of the party and the country at large, you must acquire the practice of apologising to people when you offend them in the fulfillment of your duties and forgiving one another whenever they insult you," he stressed.

He warned the party's activists to keep fairness and transparency in mind while taking constructive criticism in good faith.

He also urged the party to give more social facilities around the country to improve people's quality of life.

The newly elected regional executives, led by the chairman, Mr Jeff Konadu Addo, were subsequently sworn into office by Rt Rev. Boateng.
