Robert Lewandowski accepts Chelsea's contract offer
Robert Lewandowski has turned down a move to Chelsea in favor of a move to Barcelona.
The 33-year-old is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer after failing to agree a new contract with the German giants – despite having only a year left on his current deal.
Chelsea are currently in talks with Inter Milan about relocating Romelu Lukaku to Italy after only one season back in the Premier League.
The Blues are willing to sanction Lukaku's departure, with reports claiming that Lewandowski is Tuchel's preferred replacement.
Tuchel is a huge fan of the Poland international and believes that, despite turning 34 in August, he can still thrive in thePremier League.
Despite offers from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Lewandowski is set to join Barcelona, according to SPORT.
Barcelona will have to pay €40 million to sign the striker, with the Catalan giants struggling financially and unable to register new arrivals Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.
However, a significant development at the club appears to be easing that pressure and allowing Xavi to make the necessary changes to his squad this summer.
Barcelona's members have voted in favor of selling future merchandising and television rights in the last 24 hours.
The successful vote allows club president Joan Laporta and his board of directors to sell 49.9 percent of the club's Barca Licensing and Merchandising division (BLM) subsidiary and Over the next few years, La Liga will receive 25% of its television rights revenue. Both were approved with overwhelming majorities — 88 percent for BLM and 84 percent for TV revenue.
According to reports, the moves could bring in close to £600 million, which will be used to reduce the club's debt – which currently stands at more than £1 billion – and improve the playing squad this summer.
