Chelsea are apparently keeping an eye on Barcelona's left-back Alex Balde, who has expressed an interest in leaving the Nou Camp this summer.

Balde, an 18-year-old La Masia academy graduate, has made his way into Barcelona's senior team and has performed admirably when called upon. However, he has struggled to replace Jordi Alba as Xavi Hernandez's first-choice left-back.

Last season, the Spanish teenager made seven appearances for Barca and is rumoured to be considering a move away from the Catalan club.

Chelsea have been tracking Balde for some time and could attempt to sign him this summer.

Balde has warned Barcelona that if he isn't included in their first-team plans, he would rather quit the club, according to Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness).

In the Primera Div. R.F.E.F. - Gr. II, the 18-year-old made 15 appearances and contributed four assists for Barca's B team.

Balde's lack of senior first-team minutes, on the other hand, is becoming a concern for the kid.

The Blues are keeping an eye on the Spaniard's availability.

Left-back for Chelsea Marcos Alonso is interested in moving to Barcelona.

In the absence of the injured Ben Chilwell, Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso shone for the Blues last season.

For Thomas Tuchel's side, the Spaniard made 46 appearances, scoring five goals and assisting on six occasions.

However, Alonso is apparently considering a move to La Liga, with Barcelona being his preferred destination.

According to renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Alonso's top priority this summer is to join Barca.

Chelsea are apparently willing to sell the 31-year-old, who is nearing the end of his career.

Alonso might join Andreas Christensen, a former Blues teammate who is awaiting confirmation as the new Blaugrana player.

As a result of Alonso's desire to move to Catalonia, Chelsea may consider offering Alex Balde on loan to Barca.

It remains to be seen whether Thomas Tuchel is interested in such a transaction. Given that both players are willing to leave their current teams, it has some merit.

Following the departure of Antonio Rudiger, Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements. The club's contract with Andreas Christensen also expires this summer.
