Jon Rahm's US Open title defense was areas of strength for in on Friday as the Spaniard headed into the end of the week one stroke off the lead in Brookline with plans to adhere to his methodology and disregard the list of competitors.

The world No 2 conveyed the ball to the green with a 316-yard drive for a birdie on the standard four five and depleted a 11-1/2-foot putt for the falcon on 14.
Rahm said the course's strong unpleasant "puts a superior on all parts of the game" - not that he's griping.
"The more I play it, the more I like it," he told journalists.
"It's a particularly remarkable plan to where you have choices off the tee, and you can really basically pick anything you desire, and that is the reason you have on the competitor list such countless players that hit it sort of somewhat of a distinction long off the tee."
