However, there has been a news circulating inline of the rapper sampling a song of veteran ghanaian rapper obrafuor.

Obrafour is one of the most respected veteran rappers of all time in Ghana, having reigned for over two decades now. Drake is out with his newest studio album Honestly, Nevermind, and one of the tracks off the album, Call My Name has a line credited to Obrafour.

Obrafour has a song produced over two decades ago dubbed Oye Ohene Rmx featuring Ga rapper Tinny. The opening line of that song has the tagline ‘Kill a Cat blood, Kill a Cat.’

Drake’s Call My name has the same line and after a snippet of the song was made available on the internet, music lovers have asked the veteran Ghanaian rapper to take advantage of the situation and draw some dollars from the superstar. After the release Ghanaians quickly reacted after realizing that line was used in obrafuor’s song over two decades ago.

They quickly called upon obrafuor to take legal action against the Canadian rapper if he didn't ask for permission or didn't pay anything as compensation to him.

Some of the tweets shared below;

“Drake sampled Obrafuor in his latest album? Where are Obrafuor’s lawyers? Sika aba fie.” a tweep wrote.

Music producer King Of Accra also chipped in, “If it is true (because I don’t know) then you have to ask obrafour maybe he is aware and has been paid already. If not then of course it can be taken on for compensation if he did not grant the use of the said sample.”

The tweeps and Ghanaians kept calling on obrafuor but he is yet to reply to the circulating news since obrafour is not the social media type of person.
