Angel Di Maria could be on his way to joining a rare group of players who have played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Between 2010 and 2015, the 34-year-old appeared in little over 200 games with Real, scoring 37 goals and collecting six team trophies.

After leaving Real in 2015, Di Maria joined Paris Saint-Germain, but his contract with the French champions expired this summer, and he is now a free agent.

Both Juventus and Barcelona are said to be interested in the Argentina international.

Di Maria, according to Sky Sports, has already turned down one contract offer from Juventus.

However, a second offer is said to have been made. Di Maria's initial offer from Juventus was for a two-year contract, but the star is rumored to only want to sign for one season.

If Di Maria rejects Juve's second offer, Barca appear to be ready to strike.

Journalist Matteo Moretto stated earlier this month that Barca and Di Maria had had "direct communication," with Relevo claiming the star would choose to play in Spain than Italy.

Top 10 Players Who Have Played For Both Real Madrid And Barcelona

Di Maria would not be the first high-profile player to play for both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He wouldn't be the first or the most well-known player to do so, with luminaries like Ronaldo and Luis Figo having already done so in a contentious manner.

Alfonso Albeniz, Jose Quirante, Luciano Lizarraga, and Enrique Normand Faurie were among the players who played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid in the 1900s.

Arsenio Comamala, Walter Rozitsky, and Jose Angel Berraondo in the 1910s.

Ricardo Zamora, Hilario, and Mariano Garcia de la Puerta in the 1930s.

Alfonso Navarro with Laszlo Kaszas in the 1950s.

Justo Tejada, Evaristo de Macedo, Fernand Goyvaerts, Jesus Maria Pereda, and Lucien Muller were among the stars of the 1960s.

Lorenzo Amador and Bernd Schuster in the 1980s.

Alfonso Perez in the 2000s.

Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid manager, is said to have sought two signings from Paris Saint-Germain before agreeing to join the French Ligue 1 champions.

Zidane, who is likely to succeed Mauricio Pochettino as PSG manager, has already selected his top two transfer targets for this summer, according to Sport.

The first is Manchester United's Paul Pogba, who will depart Old Trafford at the end of June when his contract ends.

In 2016, Manchester United re-signed Pogba from Juventus for a then-world-record cost of £89 million.

The World Cup winner from France, on the other hand, had a disappointing return to Old Trafford, failing to make an impact on the pitch on numerous occasions.

Despite this, Zidane wants to bring the midfielder to the Parc des Princes to improve the team's performance.
