Yes, this may seem scary to even think about, given how much of our lives are spent online, but trust us when we say that this is essential.By going offline for an extended period of time (even for an hour a day) you are ultimately practicing a tactic where your body and mind are able to enjoy a moment of peace and restoration. You not only deserve but need a break and this is the best way to do that. By being unplugged you are able to reassess your priorities and check that you are still maintaining that balance.
Set boundaries – for both work and play
In order to avoid burning out or overindulging, it is important that you get into the habit of setting clear and strict boundaries in your life. If you say that during certain hours of the day you will not touch any work, it is essential that you officially clock out. That means no checking your emails, browsing for work-related matters, or checking work platforms.The converse is also true when it IS time to work. Be strict with yourself that this is your time to be productive, this can be taking a break from playing poker to work, avoiding online games, or any other recreational activity.
