Ranked: Top 10 Best European Players Based On Last Season Performance

The 2019/20 football season came to an end some few weeks ago with most players showcasing great performance. Players are set to return to training ahead of their UEFA Champions and Europa League commitments in August.

Despite the unprecedented circumstances faced by professionals both on and off the pitch, many have stepped up and helped their teams achieve their goals, be it securing the title, a top-four finish, or a fight for survival.

Here, we take a look at the ten highest-rated players in the top-five European leagues.

10. Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

At 32 he is still leading the way in his assist chart and pulling defense to shreds with his wonderful ackward movement. Scoring 8 goals and providing 19 assists in the bundesliga last season.

9. Ruben Diaz (Manchester City)

The Portuguese defender has been in his towering best last season, marshaling the premier league stingiest defense with abnormal composure.

8. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspot)

A sluggish start to the season, Kane scored once in his opening 15 premier league appearances- has given way to usual flurry of goals and assist in recent month. The England captain is arguably the best no.9 in England’s top flight.

7. Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

At 36 the Croatian remains central to everything real Madrid do in possession. His outside of the boot tie winning assist to Rodrygo against Chelsea in the champions league quarter final has been described as the greatest in champions league history.

6. Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool)

The Liverpool Central back has turned the reds into a winning machine in recent seasons, Jurgen Klopp’s side has never lost a home premier league match with him in the starting XI. He is currently the best defender in the world.

5. Erling Haaland (Borrusia Dortmund)

The 21 year old scored 11 goals in his first 8 bundesliga appearance of the season and has kept impressive record since. He is currently in premier league side Manchester city.

4. Kelvin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Kelvin De Bruyne is still the premier league gold standard for passing, vision, long-range shooting and leadership. The Belgian is a word class midfielder capable of dictating the play of the game.
