The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt.Rev. Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah says it isn't his obligation as Moderator and Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana to join the resistance to battle government.
As per him, as a head of the two christian associations, he owes it an obligation to help the public authority in power and assist it with succeeding.
"As a mediator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, it isn't my obligation to join resistance. No! No !No! No ! It is my obligation to help each administration regardless of which government it is to succeed and I will give my all to assist government with succeeding and appeal to God for this administration that the public authority will succeed and improve to the greatness of God".
The arbitrator said this Friday, June 17, 2022 during the recognition of the 70th commemoration of Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education (ABETICOE).
The remark comes following mounting strain on the pastorate over their appearing inability to reprimand the public authority on issues of public worry as they used to do under the past organization.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church Ghana Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso in a meeting with the media in Koforidua encouraged the pastorate to satisfy their job as voice of heart of the country by standing up on issues of public interest unafraid, favor and predisposition.
He said God has raised the ministry to talk truth to ability to request civil rights and value and become voice for the voiceless while simultaneously be accomplices of advancement.
"Since they fear what individuals will say, gracious he is NDC, he is NPP, and you will get these Politicians criticizing us, when we talk they will say the ministers are talking excessively, when we don't talk they will say the ministers are not talking. To me God has raised clergymen of the gospel as the soul of the country, we are to represent the voiceless"
In the mean time, previous arbitrator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana Very Rev. Prof.Emmanuel Martey about a month prior gave justifications for why the church hushes up in Ghana notwithstanding far and wide saw debasement and social ills.
He refered to issues, for example, affronts by political troopers on Social media specifically, pay-offs, apprehension about losing individuals, and anxiety toward scrutinizing degenerate authorities in a few ethnic gatherings.
"Numerous ministry fear affronts. See, Ghanaians can affront well indeed. Prophetic expressions from the privileged position of God censuring malicious, notwithstanding, bring judgment upon transgressors and degenerate society. More often than not blameworthy society responds to Prophetic expressions adversely and with affront. Numerous ministers can't endure such affronts and in this way stay silent in the midst of defilement yet they neglect, that was the manner in which the expert works".
He proceeded with that a few ministers have been compromised with pay-offs as they gullibly keep on tolerating gifts from government officials.
"Incautious acknowledgment of gifts. A few ministers gullibly and guiltlessly acknowledge gifts that end up being lures and pay-offs which hence piece church pioneers from teaching prophetic messages with power. Once in a while such purported gifts and their going with discussion are covertly recorded and that means disaster for the minister".
"Many church pioneers are hesitant to oppose degenerate lawmakers of similar ethnic gatherings as theirs. They dread they will be blamed for disloyalty of ethnic siblings and kin. They are likewise apprehensive that congregation individuals having a place with the ethnic gathering of degenerate individuals they criticize will leave with their cash too.
"Some don't talk since they need to have political resources and impact. Some pastorate and Christians will gag their prophetic voice in other to acquire political resources from enormous and degenerate individuals and to have political impact and abilities".
