Manchester United has been pursuing De Jong for some time, and the newest speculations suggest that he will make the move to Old Trafford.
According to The Athletic, Barcelona's economic vice president Eduard Romeu said that the two financial agreements reached in the Extraordinary General Assembly imply the club will not have to sell any players before June 30th.
However, this could be a ruse, as it is stated that Man United believes the Catalan club would be forced to sell the Netherlands midfielder because to financial concerns.
In Spain, AS reported on a story claiming that the Assembly's resolution had made little difference to the situation.
Barca's goal is to increase communication with interested teams in order to come up with a satisfactory offer for De Jong. Only Man United has made a bid of 60 million euros so far, while the Liga giants are demanding an asking price of 80 million euros.
According to sources (The Athletic), Frenkie de Jong will eventually sign for Manchester United. Ten Hag is eager to hire him, and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
According to AS, the former Ajax man's annual salary of 13 million euros (£215,000) will be a big financial burden for Barcelona.
Man United will begin their pre-season in Asia next month against Liverpool. Ten Hag should try to secure key signings as soon as possible so that he can prepare the squad for the new season.
For the time being, both United and Barca have maintained their positions. It'll be interesting to see who gives in first. We'll keep you informed.
