A DR Congo warrior was killed in the country's flashpoint eastern district on Friday in a trade of fire at a boundary post with Rwanda, police said, while Rwanda expressed two of its troopers were injured.
The occurrence, matching with mounting pressure between the adjoining nations, occurred at a wilderness post in the eastern Congolese city of Goma, they said.
"A Congolese fighter surged forward, starting to shoot toward the Rwandan boundary," a Congolese cop who was available informed AFP.
"A Rwandan fighter started shooting and he passed on the spot. There was then a trade of fire among us and the Rwandan security powers. A portion of the regular people who were holding on to cross the line were injured."
Rwanda's military later affirmed the occurrence, expressing that a Congolese warrior had crossed the line and started taking shots at troops and regular folks with an AK-47 attack rifle, injuring two Rwandan fighters.
"The Congolese warrior was shot dead 25 meters (yards) inside Rwandan domain," the assertion said.
