Upcoming season, Marcelo could play against Real Madrid in the Champions League

Marcelo is a UEFA Champions League mainstay and one of the best left backs in football history. The Real Madrid legend recently won his fifth UCL in the 2021/22 season, and despite being a backup player, the 34-year-old did get 94 minutes of action off the bench in football's main competition.

There has been a lot of speculation about where Marcelo might play next season, and there are a lot of clubs outside of Europe's top five interested in signing him. Real Valladolid and the legendary Ronaldo Nazario have been linked even within LaLiga.

However, there is a more appealing option. Milan, the Serie A champions, have made an offer According to Ozgur Sancar of Diario AS, Real Madrid are interested in signing Marcelo as a free agent.

The issue is that Milan is offering Marcelo a salary of three million euros. That is reasonable for Milan, who do not have a lot of money to spend, to provide a backup left back. But, given that Marcelo earned six million euros per year at Real Madrid and could earn the same amount at a club outside Europe's top five, it is reasonable for him to demand more.

If the Rossoneri truly want the veteran Brazilian to serve as a backup to another former Real Madrid player, Theo Hernandez, they could make a strong case for it. It would be fantastic for them to overpay for Marcelo, but he has great experience in the Champions League and With his technical ability and football IQ, he remains a dangerous presence in the attack.

This means that the Serie A champions and a team aiming for a return to the Champions League are interested in Marcelo: the legend could face Real Madrid in the UCL next season. Either for the Rossoneri or a different club.

Just around the time Real Madrid launched Los Galacticos, a new generation of Real Madrid fans was born in Bangladesh.

The 2002 World Cup, the first ever held in Asia, naturally drew the most attention from Asian countries. The tournament's timing coincided with Real Madrid's brewing of the Galacticos in such a way that many young fans were hooked to Real within a couple of years.
