Vinicius Junior was encouraged by Paris Saint-Germain not to renew his Real Madrid contract and was given a 40 million euro per season deal to join the Ligue 1 club once his current contract expired.
The aforementioned sum is 12 times his present wage and four times what he will earn if his contract with Los Blancos is extended.
On the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claimed that Vinicius had received various offers but had only considered staying at the LaLiga Santander giants.
PSG, who made their initial move a few summers ago after lobbying for his signature since November 2021, was one of these attempts.
PSG offered him a sizable signing bonus as well as a variety of business prospects in Qatar during their talks.
Perez and general director Jose Angel Sanchez were pleased to be told of PSG's plans. Due to his skills, professionalism, and charisma, both guys admire the Brazil international.
Clubs from the Premier League were also interested.
PSG tried everything they could to set up a meeting with Vinicius, but nothing worked out, and the Champions League round of 16 tie against Los Blancos didn't help matters.
Vinicius appeared to be content to stay put, despite his admiration for the club and gratitude for PSG's attention. His ties to Real Madrid were too strong to be broken, and he last communicated with them in March.
Vinicius always made it clear to his agents, even when he was out of form, that he is not interested in accepting any offers. Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United all knocked on his door, but all of them were turned down.
The renewal of Vinicius' contract is still on hold.
If Real Madrid had made an unfair contract extension offer to Vinicius, potential suitors might have had a chance to get his attention.
Vinicius, on the other hand, felt that his contribution to the squad was recognized, and the contract extension is expected to be finalized after necessary documents are sent and examined by both parties before being signed.
Real Madrid intended to sign him to a contract that would keep him at the club until 2028, but they decided that the new contract might end in 2026 or 2027.
The agent for Vinicius proposed that his client receive 10 million euros plus bonuses if he signs until 2026, or roughly 12 million euros if his contract is extended until 2027. Both bids were accepted by Real Madrid, and an agreement will be achieved soon.
