Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew elated after winning an award at 2022 Calcio Trade Ball
Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has expressed so much pleasure after winning the Order of the Star award at the 2022 Calcio Trade Ball, held at the Kempinski Hotel on Sunday night in Accra
The Calcio Trade Ball is a football occasion and seminar organised by the ArthurLegacy Sports to honour the relationship between Ghana and Italy mainly in terms of football, trade and culture.
The theme for the 2022 edition was 'Stop Player Exploitation, Save Football.'
An unofficial football game was organised to mark this year's seminar last Friday between Ghana XI and All Stars XI at the Accra Sports Stadium- a clash which ended 3-2 for the Ghanaians.
Andre Ayew after having a sensational season with Qatari giants Al Sadd, having won the domestic double and also playing a part in the Black Stars qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, was recognized at the event with this great honour.
After being named as the Order of the Star, the ex- West Ham United forward has expressed his excitement for winning the award and hopes to do more in the coming year.
"Thank you for this honour, the highest at the CBT awards. It has been an eventful season of football for me. Club and international football has given me a lot, this award should be extra fuel. Thank you."
He is expected to captain the team for the global and biggest football competition which will be held at his base, Qatar in November this year.
