Liverpool's 2022/23 squad depth reveals a great rebuild is beginning, according to Nunez, Diaz, and Ramsay.
Liverpool finished the 2021/22 season with FA Cup and Carabao Cup victories, just missing out on a historic quadruple.
Manchester City's relentless run helped them win the Premier League title for the 14th time, while Real Madrid defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final to win Europe's premier club trophy.
While many were quick to criticize Liverpool for failing to win the two major awards, no one can deny that Jurgen Klopp's side had another outstanding season.
Seriously, the levels of rivalry that have developed between Liverpool in recent years are mind-boggling. It's even more incredible when you consider that their horrific Premier League point totals over the last few years have only resulted in one title.
Klopp has truly re-established the Reds as comfortably one of the most consistently dangerous sides in European football and an example of how other clubs should be run.
But, all good things must come to an end, and with the race for transfers never dying away, there’s no time to not keep squads fresh, no matter how good they are.

All players have a sell-by date, and all squads will eventually run their course over time. Young Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez signed from Benfica and Luis Diaz joined at the beginning of 2022, while Sadio Mane looks set to leave the club after six years and Mohamed Salah’s future continues to be discussed.
Most fans would desperately fear the prospect of losing two of the best attackers in the world and a duo that have been central to a club’s success, but with how well oiled Liverpool are under Klopp, very rarely has there been a reason to worry in recent years.
Their recruitment has been nothing short of sensational during the Klopp era, particularly in recent times as they have compiled a squad of well-drilled world beaters. And with the end of a cycle feeling as though it’s on the horizon, work is already underway to futureproof the squad.

Liverpool have quietly been replenishing the team, and have continued to do so ahead of the 2022/23 season. As a result, they already look more than prepared to go and dominate in the coming seasons.
With an already stacked starting XI, the Reds have quietly amassed a second XI of players who are waiting in the wings to step up and explode with all the potential they hold.

With a player ready to step in and do a job in every position, and several players waiting in the wings in some areas, it’s fair to say that Liverpool’s future is in good hands.
Scottish full back Calvin Ramsay is expected to complete a move to Anfield imminently and provides a prospective option at right back, learning under one of the best in Trent Alexander-Arnold. Kostas Tsimikas, meanwhile, has proven incredibly reliable for Klopp and has been impressive whenever called upon on the other flank.
James Milner and Jordan Henderson could be considered the old guard of Liverpool’s midfield. But with Fabinho still in his prime, Thiago Alcantara now finding his true levels and the likes of Naby Keita, Harvey Elliott, Fabio Carvalho and Curtis Jones all among the first team, Klopp still has a multitude of options in what is believed to be a weaker area.

Now, let’s talk about that attack. Sure, Mane may well leave this summer and Salah’s future remains uncertain, but Liverpool already have their replacements, and they’re incredibly exciting.
Diaz and Nunez will be expected to be the face of the team, while Diogo Jota has easily transitioned to the top level of the game. When you consider that players like Carvalho and Elliott are capable of playing in the front three, it's a terrifying prospect for rival fans.
Of course, where there is potential, there is still much work to be done to guarantee that players reach their full potential. With the work Klopp has done at Liverpool throughout his time there, there is no reason why this fresh crop of players won't be able to maintain Liverpool's amazing levels and create a new legacy.
