Tite claims he turned down employment offers from both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Tite, the Brazilian manager, has disclosed that he turned down job offers from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since 2016, the 61-year-old has led his country and is currently ready to lead the Samba Boys to the World Cup in Qatar in November.
In Group G, his team will meet Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon as the record five-time champions try to add another medal to their collection come December.
Tite, who led Brazil to Copa America glory in 2019, is desperate to end his country's 20-year drought for a World Cup victory.
So much so that he's previously rejected down some of the world's most prestigious jobs in order to do so.
He disclosed to The Guardian that Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon, and Paris Saint-Germain all wanted him ahead of the 2018 World Cup, where he could only get Brazil to the quarterfinals.
"Yes, Real Madrid and Sporting," he answered when questioned about job offers from Europe. When a European club expresses interest in a professional, they have a conversation to describe their requirements. "This is fantastic." Another club wanted to speak with me, but I declined: PSG [when Unai Emery resigned in May 2018]. They wanted to speak with me, but I refused; I don't want to, and I won't." I don't want to leave the door open to something else. I want to concentrate on my work. "What happens next is a different story."
"They [Madrid] indicated they wanted to chat during the World Cup [immediately before the 2018 tournament], and I said no, I won't discuss, don't come close," Tite added. I want to be at ease in my own skin and at work. I'm giving it my all. When you perform anything in parallel, you're not getting the most out of it. "I'm sorry, but I'm not up to it." Real Madrid, PSG, and Sporting have all made me offers. But that was something I didn't desire. I want to be the World Cup champion. After the World Cup, I'll make a decision on my future."
