Sadio Mané may have caused Philippe Coutinho and Liverpool to rethink their unpleasant decision.
Liverpool supporters may now view the Philippe Coutinho deal differently in light of Sadio Mané's relatively amicable transfer to Bayern Munich. Philippe Coutinho came very close to receiving the ultimate redemption. When the Brazilian extended Aston Villa's lead against Manchester City on the penultimate day of the season, bringing the Premier League within touching distance, any lingering animosity among Liverpool supporters appeared on the verge of being forcefully eliminated.
Ultimately, Villa were unable to hold out, and Liverpool's ambitions of winning the league as well as Coutinho's hopes of reestablishing himself at Anfield vanished. But given that Sadio Mané is expected to join Bayern Munich with support from the crowd, it makes sense that the small playmaker could feel a little betrayed.

And although if the historic back injury put a bad mark on his final half-season with the team, it should not overshadow everything that came before.
There were undoubtedly many beautiful moments. Mané enjoys the advantage of being connected to far greater achievement because he had the good fortune to be at the club during a trophy-rich era. But did he considerably outperform Coutinho in terms of his individual contributions? The Brazilian will end with more assists despite playing in 68 fewer games for a lesser team.
All of this is not intended to belittle Mané, who will rightfully be remembered as a Liverpool legend. He altered the course of the club's modern history along with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. Coutinho would undoubtedly regret missing out on it if he leaves now. But what gave him a stronger reason to remain than the man who was looking to relocate?
