Iker Casillas Telling Fabio Coentrao He Wasn't In Real Madrid's Matchday Squad Is Priceless
Iker Casillas had an entertainingly off-kilter trade with partner Fabio Coentrao when he told the Portuguese left-back he wasn't in Real Madrid's matchday crew.
Back in May 2013, Real made a trip to Espanyol and played out a 1-1 draw with the Catalan outfit.
Gonzalo Higuain counterbalanced Cristhian Stuani's opener in the last part, with Real playing a marginally debilitated side given the Copa Del Rey last with Atletico Madrid was approaching.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso were among the substitutes. Coentrao, a €30 million marking from Benfica, was not in spite of reasoning he was.
He sat on the away seat with his shorts, socks and Real preparation top, fit to be called upon.
Then again, actually was never going to happen on the grounds that Coentrao was really not even in that frame of mind by any means and had been refreshed.
Genuine and Spain legend Casillas, having at first been so befuddled, needed to tell Coentrao.
His look was an outright picture and he then headed toward the supervisory group, with Jose Mourinho in outright hysterics.
Ronaldo took his countryman's seat close to Casillas, while Coentrao needed to join the other rested players in the stands.
To be reasonable for Coentrao, he took it well overall and saw the interesting side. The previous Rio Ave man was a starter the next week as Real were beaten in the cup last against rivals Atleti, who left away with a 2-1 win in additional time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 34-year-old played multiple times for Los Blancos, coming out on top for two La Liga championships and two Champions Leagues.
Credited out to Monaco and Sporting CP, Coentrao left in 2018 and got back to childhood club Rio Ave prior to hanging up his boots and choosing to turn into a shipowner angler
