France international Kylian Mbappe on Sunday blamed the president for the French Football Federation (FFF) of disregarding bigoted maltreatment after his punishment miss at Euro 2020.
The Paris Saint-Germain star's conclusive spot-kick against Switzerland was saved in the last-16 shootout, bringing about the title holders leaving the competition.
The 23-year-old was criticized via online entertainment by incensed fans, and, surprisingly, considered stopping the national group subsequently.
In a meeting with a Sunday paper, FFF president Noel Le Graet discussed the absence of help Mbappe had felt after the Euro elimination.
Le Graet said "he (Mbappe) thought about that the alliance had not safeguarded him after his missed punishment and the analysis via online entertainment organizations".
"We saw seen each other for five minutes in my office," proceeded with Le Graet, adding the striker "presently not had any desire to play in the French group - which he clearly didn't think".
On Sunday, Mbappe answered on Twitter, lamenting that Le Graet had not considered the "prejudice" of which he would have been a casualty.
"Indeed at long last I clarified for him (Le Graet) over all that it was corresponding to bigotry, and NOT to the punishment," Mbappe said.
"However, he thought about that there had been no racism..."
Le Graet had previously experienced harsh criticism last September in the wake of announcing that prejudice in football "doesn't exist or scarcely exists".
A couple of months before the Paris investigator's office reported it was examining bigoted messages towards specific French international players after the Euros.
On Saturday, Fifa distributed a report highlighting the expansion in the quantity of put-downs against footballers via virtual entertainment.
As per this review, 38% of them were bigoted in nature.
