Tropical Cable and Conductor Limited (TCCL), Ghana's and West Africa's biggest electrical cable maker, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
State dignitaries, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will attend the ceremony, which will take place on Wednesday, June 22.
"Considering the influence we have had in the country," HR Assistant and Administrative Officer Andy Mensah said on Tuesday. "The Energy Minister, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and the Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Michael Okyere Baafi, have all consented to grace the event."
He said on the Super Morning Show that the event is not just to commemorate 25 years of innovation and industrial excellence in the country and beyond, but also to recognise the company's loyal consumers.
Other activities, such as a tree-planting exercise and other community events, would be held in conjunction with the launch, he added.
"There will also be programmes for our employees to thank them for their efforts in keeping us in business for 25 years, as well as a loyalty promo for our customers who will participate and be awarded at the conclusion of the anniversary," he said.
Tropical Cables will unveil a new product "as a gift to Ghanaians," according to Mr. Mensah, in keeping with the theme of the event, "25 Years of Impacting Ghana: New Ideas, New Products, New Markets."
TCCL's Background
TCCL is a world-class Ghanaian enterprise that has raised its manufacturing capacity to over 8,000 tonnes over the years.
They are the only company in their field that ensures that their cables are flame-retardant, low-smoke, and lead-free, and that they facilitate the continuous and dependable distribution of electricity to industry and the built environment.
It is also the only cable producer to have invested in a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounding factory, which sells to other cable makers in Ghana and the rest of Africa in addition to providing its production process.
It is the sole maker of aluminium rod in West Africa, which it also exports.
