ENGLAND wins. Raheem Sterling has credited a new training method — meditation — with helping Manchester City win the championship.
After scoring 17 goals in 47 games for the Blues, the winger won his fourth Premier League championship this year.
Additionally, he has proven to be a hot shot for the Three Lions under Gareth Southgate, who has named the 27-year-old as one of England's key goal threats under his leadership.
Raheem Sterling, a winger for Manchester City, claims that meditation is the reason behind his team's championship-winning achievements.
He won the Premier League title for the fourth time last season after scoring 17 goals in 47 games, and he claims that playing football helps him think more clearly.
To assist his supporters in coping with the pressures of daily life, Raheem has now produced a number of podcasts with the help of the mental health software Headspace.
He declared: "Meditation helps me have a more calmer, clearer, and sharper mind. Mental training through it is as vital as physical training."
Our potential is endless when we are in a positive frame of mind. It was a game-changer for me to discover how to train my mind, which gave me the ability to control my thoughts rather than the other way around.
"Power of Mind with Raheem" is a seven-podcast series that the Premier League star has produced with Dora Kamau, a meditation instructor for Headspace.
According to Louise Troen of Headspace, "Raheem and Dora's new collection not only enables members to understand the strategies behind his extraordinary professional success, but also serves as a timely reminder of the positive effects meditation may have on our mental health.
"Headspace and Raheem want to change the world, one mind at a time."
The collection from Headspace is available in the app under the title "Power of Mind with Raheem." For a limited time starting on June 22, visit headspace.com/raheem to sign up for a free 3-month trial.
