Domestic leagues will change their schedules as a result of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which begins in November. The next LaLiga Santander season is scheduled to begin in August.

The official schedule for the 2022–23 season was just authorized by the Spanish FA. The season is scheduled to begin on the weekend of August 12 and conclude on June 4, with the top flight as its destination. LaLiga will be suspended between November and December while the 2022 Qatar World Cup is taking place in that country, which starts on November 21.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in November and December for the first time in history rather than in the customary summer months of June and July, making the 2022–23 season special. The sensible choice was made to transfer the competition to the more temperate Qatari winter because the average daily temperature in Qatar in both June and July surpasses 40C/100F.
