The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, feels the authorities’ creation of the National Cathedral is indicative that Ghanaians are being taken for granted.

He says the State has been disingenuous with the assignment, describing it as the largest presidential scandal withinside the country’s political records.

The legislator’s remarks come after he claimed that the National Cathedral assignment is a non-public entity opposite to claims that it's far state-owned, plus allegations that a few participants of the Board of Trustees have now no longer been registered as such and had been substituted.

“This is why we're pushing for a bi-partisan committee probe into this complete National Cathedral rot, that is rising as the largest presidential scandal. It is the maximum putrefying presidential heist withinside the complete records of the fourth republic. And we assume that we need to have a unique probe to delve into all of the topics due to the fact whenever the authorities make claims, each attitude of it's far a breach”, Mr Ablakwa stated on Eyewitness News.

Already, Mr Ablakwa’s colleague MP for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, is about to sue the authorities for sole-sourcing the architectural layout agreement for the National Cathedral to Sir David Adjaye and Associates Limited.

The North Tongu legislator, who has been vocal on the development of the National Cathedral and the authorities’ economic commitment, wonders why one of this spiritual assignments is being built thru intended shady deals.

“This is the Lord’s assignment and there's no righteousness, no holiness, no purity and no attempt to expose reverence to God and to admire our laws. These are the topics that we're outraged about, and we're serving word that as a caucus, we take a completely extreme view of those topics, and we're going to delve into them and make certain that human beings solve the questions that must be answered. If now no longer, human beings will take the Parliament of Ghana extreme”, he stressed.

But the National Cathedral of Ghana has debunked the MP’s claims, insisting that the National Cathedral has been registered as a non-public entity.

Its Executive Director, Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah in a declaration clarified that the assignment is a non-earnings company owned by the state.
