Edu has revealed Mikel Arteta's plans for signings this summer

Edu, the head of ARSENAL, claims that the team is assembling one that will compete together for the next six years. 

Additionally, he disclosed the four qualities Mikel Arteta is looking for in this summer's additions. 

Yesterday, Arsenal announced the arrival of playmaker Fabio Vieira from Porto for a reported £34 million. 

Last week, the Gunners signed Marquinhos, a 19-year-old attacker for Sao Paulo, for £3 million. 

And they are currently in advanced negotiations to sign 25-year-old Gabriel Jesus, a striker for Manchester City.
After just missing out on a Champions League finish the previous season, Arsenal is eager to make amends.

And for Arteta and sporting director Edu, strength in depth seems to be the way to go. 

However, the latter contends that Arsenal is not arbitrarily pursuing elite players. 

Edu claims that he and Arteta are actively seeking out younger talents that fit all four criteria for profile and personality. 

The "appropriate age, right attitude, and right mentality" are also requirements, along with being "interesting" players.

This is so that Edu and Arteta can assemble a close-knit group of superstars who will perform together for the ensuing six years. 

Edu stated to Arsenal.com: "100% (we're investing in youngsters)." Edu has also made a formal offer for Leeds winger Raphinha, 25, who is 25. Arsenal, without a doubt. We need to search the market for dynamic players who are the appropriate age, attitude, and mentality. As I stated last summer, the goal is to have a youthful squad, therefore we want to see a club like Arsenal with a young, vibrant team with a bright future.

The chance to play together for two, three, four, five, or six seasons is something we want to give them. Despite the fact that we still have a lot to do, we are eager to begin the season with the players we want to sign. 

"This summer is really the result of what we've been working on a lot to try to discover the greatest players, the best targets," Edu continued. 

In order to be ready when we started this summer, we carefully identified what we needed in the team.

"Fabio is an excellent example since we moved quickly because we had long since made preparations to get Fabio, and then when the opportunity presents itself, we take action.

"To be fair, I believe we still have some great and constructive conversations. I hope we can update the fans with some positive news.
