Tottenham are said to be in pole position to sign Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

According to Todo Fichajes, Spurs manager Antonio Conte appears to be interested in signing the Frenchman this summer on a two-year loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Lenglet has struggled to find his best form at Barcelona, having previously impressing at former club Sevilla.

Spurs appear to still value Lenglet, and they currently appear to be ahead of Marseille and Porto in the race to recruit the 27-year-old this summer.

If Tottenham pulls it off, this could be a solid move, with a two-year loan allowing them to get a good look at the player without committing to buying him.

Conte could need some depth at the back, and Lenglet may be a trustworthy alternative to call on, even if he won't always start.
