When will the 2022-23 La Liga season begin?
Despite a mid-season break to accommodate the 2022 World Cup, La Liga's 2022-23 season is set to begin on August 12.
The start date for the forthcoming season is only one day sooner than the start date for the 2021-22 campaign.
The players in the first tier league completed the 2021-22 season on May 22, 2021. During their two-and-a-half month hiatus, they will participate in pre-season training and friendlies.
La Liga will be suspended on the weekend of November 12-13 to accommodate the World Cup. The season will resume on December 29, 2022, after the players' World Cup obligations are completed.
The World Cup finals in 2022 are scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18.
The La Liga 2021-22 season begins on December 29, 11 days after the World Cup final.
The season will then be completed to completion till the final matchday on June 4, 2023. As is customary on the last day of the season, all ten matches will be played concurrently.
