Jurgen Klopp has had the Midas touch since taking over at Liverpool in 2015, but Takumi Minamino's impending move to Monaco shows that even one of the Premier League's best can make a mistake in the transfer market.
Minamino has struggled to make an impact on Merseyside since joining from RB Salzburg in a £7.25million deal two and a half years ago, appearing in just 30 league games in the last three seasons. The 27-year-old has impressed in domestic cup competitions but is set to join Ligue 1 in a £15.5 million deal.

Karius, Loris
Loris Karius - and also that tragedy night in Kyiv back in 2018 - is hard to overlook when it comes to transfers that Liverpool have gotten wrong in recent years.
When he arrived from Mainz in 2016, the German shot-stopper was quickly installed as the Reds' No. 1, but he was demoted after a string of high-profile gaffes. Klopp gave Karius a second chance the following season, but he delivered one of the worst performances in recent memory, costing Liverpool the 2018 Champions League final.
Unsurprisingly, that was the 29-year-final old's first-team appearance in a Reds shirt. Karius spent the entire 2021/22 season in exile at the club after unsuccessful loan stints around Europe, but is set to get a fresh start this summer when his current contract expires.
Caulker, Steven
When Klopp signed QPR defender Steven Caulker on a short-term loan deal in January 2016, it raised more than a few eyebrows.
The former Tottenham player was signed to provide cover for the Reds' backline, but he ended up being used as an emergency target man during his brief time with the club.
Caulker only made six appearances for Liverpool before his loan was cut short, and the 30-year-old, who has spent the last few years plying his trade in Turkey, later revealed that he had checked into rehab.
Solanke, Dominic
When Liverpool swooped in to sign Dominic Solanke in the summer of 2017, he was one of Chelsea's top prospects.
The Reds only paid around £4 million after a tribunal decision, but Solanke struggled in front of goal and only scored once for the club during his ill-fated 18-month stay.
Despite his struggles at Liverpool, Solanke was an absolute goal machine for England's youth teams - and it was likely that pedigree that convinced Bournemouth to splash out a stonking £19 million to rescue the 24-year-old from his Merseyside misery back in January 2019.
Grujic, Marko
Marko Grujic was another Klopp signing who fell short of expectations. A number of clubs were interested in the Serbian playmaker, but Liverpool emerged victorious.
