Xavi Hernandez is tired of playing catch-up with Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele and, according to sources, has adopted a harsh approach.
According to reports, Barcelona's management warned Dembele that the club will not offer him another contract after the ones he received in December, and that he can choose to take it or go.
The report comes from Spanish journalist Javier Miguel, who revealed the events at the club in a tweet on Wednesday.
According to him, Xavi stated that Barcelona will not make any further proposals for Dembele, whose contract expires this month.
Dembele is one step away from lowering his pants and accepting the offer he has been ignoring/rejecting since December." He penned a letter.
"I called Xavi on Monday and asked him to intervene with Laporta." 'There will be no fresh offer; either accept the one you have or say goodbye,' says the technician.
It is no secret that Dembele is coveted by Barcelona, as the club and even the manager have attempted everything possible to keep him on their terms.
Barcelona's final offer for Dembele was rejected by the player's representation in December of last year.
And now, if terms are not reached by next week, the 25-year-old forward may depart the Catalan club as a free agent if other clubs come calling.
It appears to be a frustrating one for Xavi, who would prefer to know who he can rely on ahead of the new season.

Zidane frequently employed the 4-3-3 formation at Real Madrid, and it appears that it is his preferred formation.
Donnarumma is anticipated to be the primary goalkeeper next season.
Sergio Ramos might return to the center of the defense under Zidane. The Spaniard might team up with Presnel Kimpembe.
Achraf Hakimi and Juan Bernat might be attacking from the wings.
Marquinhos might be used as a defensive midfielder with Ramos in the heart of the defense. As the Brazilian star has previously played in this position, he will have no trouble fitting in.
