The association's future was defined by Mr. Yeboah, who is running for re-election as general secretary.

He said that in addition to serving as a watchdog, the wellbeing of journalists in the nation will always come first.

Contrary to assertions that he wasn't a team player, he acknowledged that he had always spoken up for what was right.

Mr. Yeboah said he had the skills necessary for the position and wanted to work for the association's members. He asked members to vote in the GJA's best interest.

He remarked, "I want to serve the members and I want to leave a good legacy for the sake of the GJA."

He said, "A vote for me is a vote for development.

Additionally, he assured everyone that he would accept the election results and stated that, in the improbable event that he lost the election, he had already written his handover notes.

Hlordzi Dominic

Mr. Hlordzi, on his part, asserted that the association urgently need new leadership due to the recent decline in the professional standing of journalists.

"I'm in to assist with the planning. People grumble when they attend GJA programmes because many things aren't done correctly, he said.

Mr. Hlordzi continued by saying he aimed to establish an inclusive organisation to protect the interests of all journalists.

Agyeman Akwasi

Mr. Agyeman claimed that the GJA General Secretary's office had fallen into disuse, and he was working to reactivate the institution because it was the organization's backbone.

He continued by saying he would make sure the GJA constitution was followed, especially when it came to matters involving membership.

Because I'll have more time for work and for journalism, I'll be able to better serve you, Mr. Agyeman promised.

Ekpe Rebecca

If elected, Ms. Ekpe stated in a brief speech that she aimed to enhance both the association's and journalists' reputations.

What kind of journalists do you want to resemble? That's what public affairs is all about, she inquired.
