GH¢2.47bn spent on Planting for Food and Jobs – Ofori-Atta.

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has said that assets planned for the public authority's leader horticultural program, the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) will be delivered on time.

Mr. Ofori-Atta said the public authority had likewise spent a sum of GH¢2.47 billion on the program somewhere in the range of 2017 and 2021 to assist with expanding food supply while tending to the joblessness challenges confronting the country.

He told Parliament Wednesday that all exceptional assets for the program for 2021 had been delivered.

The Member of Parliament for Wa East, Godfred Seidu Jasaw, recorded a critical inquiry requesting addresses on assets for the PFJ.

The MP said he needed to know when the Ministry would give monetary freedom to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to clear the enormous obligation owed accomplices and providers, to guarantee accessibility of financed compost in this cultivating season.

Accordingly, Mr. Ofori-Atta said all exceptional assets had been cleared.

"Mr. Speaker, toward the finish of 2021 a measure of GH¢86.31 million was extraordinary, under the PFJ program.

The Minister added that a measure of GH¢278.57 million had likewise been delivered to the service as a feature of its spending plan for the 2022 monetary year.
