Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all 'ready to knock on the door' to sign Yannick Carrasco.
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco, who could be available for a low fee.
According to Spanish media, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in signing Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco this summer after learning of his release clause.
The Belgian wideman, 28, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, and English clubs are considering making another move for him.
.
While it is understood that Carrasco is happy at the Wanda Metropolitano under Diego Simeone's tutelage, various aspects of his contract make an exit possible. He is said to be eager to sign a new contract that would bring him closer to the club's top earners, such as Jan Oblak, Antoine Greizmann, and Koke.
Carrasco has two years left on his contract in Madrid, and AS claims his release clause is worth €60 million (£51.5 million). According to the report, Atletico Madrid is eager to begin contract negotiations with Carrasco because Simeone is said to want to keep him.
The 28-year-old winger has been with the club for five and a half years, with a brief stint in China in between the two spells with the Spanish giants. He came from Monaco in 2015 and left in 2018, only to return two years later.
He has made 219 appearances for Los Rojiblancos and scored 37 goals in that time. He won the league in 2020/21, while also contributing six goals and seven assists last season.
While it remains to be seen how realistic a transfer for any of United, Chelsea, or Tottenham would be, Carrasco would undoubtedly be an excellent wide option for the trio. The Red Devils are reportedly interested in Ajax star Antony but are unable to agree on a fee with the Dutch giants.
Meanwhile, it is clear that the Blues want a new wide option this summer, with Raheem Sterling of Manchester City and Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona among their targets. Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic this summer, but they may be looking for a replacement for Steven Bergwijn, who is in talks with Ajax.
Carrasco has previously admitted that he would be suited to the Premier League, which is intriguing. In 2019, he stated, "Everyone knows England is one of the best championships in the world - it's a big competition."
"Players in the Premier League tell me it's a physical league - strong, but with a lot of space." When you play in other countries, you don't always have a lot of space, but in England, everything is open, and the action moves up and down the field.
"That would be fine with me." I believe I can compete in a wide range of international competitions because I can both attack and defend.
"I play as a winger for the national team, but I can also play in behind." England would be a good opponent for me. I believe I would be fine. Why not go to England if I have the opportunity?"
