Tottenham news: Lautaro Martinez is the latest to emerge as Christian Eriksen's preferred transfer target.

Inter are interested in Tottenham-linked Lautaro Martinez this summer, while Christian Eriksen is said to want to stay in the Premier League despite interest from a number of clubs.

The confirmation of the new Premier League fixtures will only add to Tottenham Hotspur fans' excitement.

While there was so much emphasis on securing a Champions League spot last season, there will be hope in the top flight that the team can progress. They may not yet have enough to compete with the might of Manchester City and Liverpool, but third place appears to be up for grabs.

Manager Antonio Conte will want his squad primed and ready for Tottenham's match against Southampton in Week 1. If they get off to a fast start, they'll have laid the groundwork for a season to remember.

Martinez could be one of Inter's key players. The Argentina international has been one of the best strikers in Serie A in recent years, forming a lethal partnership with Lukaku when Inter won the league title in 2020-21.

With Paulo Dybala set to join Inter, there may be room to move on the £55 million-rated attacker. Spurs have long been linked with a move for Martinez and are said to be looking to add to their attacking depth.

Eriksen's choice

Christian Eriksen, the Danish international, is said to want to stay in the Premier League next season.

The playmaker suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for his country last summer, but he made a remarkable return to top-flight football with Brentford on a short-term deal. However, he appears set to leave the Bees before the start of the new season.

Manchester United are said to have offered Eriksen a contract, while Tottenham are also said to be interested in their former player. As things stand, it appears that a deal with one of those two clubs is on the cards, with the Dane keen to play in English football's top flight again next season.

The Togo forward signed with Paraguayan club Olimpia in 2020, months before the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, football came to a halt, and Adebayor was fired in June of the same year, when fixture lists began to be repopulated.

The 38-year-old made only four appearances for the club, but winning the case will net him around £420,000. Adebayor stayed at White Hart Lane for three years after spending a season on loan with the club. In 113 appearances, he scored 42 goals.
