Crystal Palace: Fabrizio Romano claims Ebiowei is “set to sign”

What’s the word? That is according to the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, who took to his personal Twitter page to issue details over Palace’s capture of promising Derby County winger, Malcolm Ebiowei. Romano stated: “English talent Malcolm Ebiowei won’t join Manchester United. He’s set to sign his contract with Crystal Palace after medicals completed this week, it’s a done deal. Ebiowei will leave Derby County to join Palace – contract will be valid until June 2027.” The Italian super-journalist then issued an update in further detail in a thread below the original post, saying: “To be clear: Ebiowei’s medical has been already completed earlier this week, all done. Five-year deal to be signed very soon – Crystal Palace statement to follow right after.” Vieira will be buzzing The signing of Ebiowei is an absolute gift for the 45-year-old Frenchman, with his three goal contributions, in the form of one goal and two assists across 16 games, a surefire sign of his potential, considering he has had such an impact across 954 minutes of Championship football. Quite simply, he possesses a style out-wide that Vieira does not currently have at his disposal. As a left-footed right-winger, he will serve as an inverted option for Palace and may just dislodge Jordan Ayew with his bouts of plentiful pace and subsequent bursts of energy in and around the half-space. In terms of metrics, Ebiowei’s average of 1.4 shots per game is similar to Ayew’s total of 1.1 SPG, though his match average of 3.0 dribbles per game cannot be matched by the 30-year-old who maintains an average of 1.2 dribbles. It’s a signing of high potential and reeks of astuteness from Crystal Palace, not to mention one that is sure to leave Patrick Vieira buzzing. AND in other news: Vieira must finally axe shocking £35k-p/w CPFC dud, he’s cost them too much Source
