HOW CHELSEA MIGHT LINEUP IF THEY MANAGE TO

Following a busy summer of ins and outs at Stamford Bridge, CHELSEA are expected to look a little different next season.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager, will be eager to begin assembling his team now that Todd Boehly's takeover is finalized in an effort to catch up to Manchester City and Liverpool.

The German will need to replace players lost before bolstering last season's group with marquee acquisitions like Raheem Sterling, Declan Rice, or Ousmane Dembele.

While Andreas Christensen is off to Barcelona, Antonio Rudiger, who was selected to the PFA Team of the Year earlier this month, has left for Real Madrid.

While Romelu Lukaku returns to Inter Milan, captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso may accompany Christensen to Catalonia.

In light of this, Chelsea faces a challenging task in strengthening their roster for the following season.

Since Edouard Mendy had another outstanding season, they won't have to worry about the goalkeeper position.

Maintaining the health of Reece James and Ben Chilwell will be a priority for Tuchel, who must choose replacements for the pair now that Emerson Palmieri has returned from his loan at Lyon.

Despite turning 38 later this year, Thiago Silva will continue to be a mainstay at the back. However, it is still unclear who will play alongside the Brazilian.

Tuchel will probably maintain his back three shape.

While highly regarded RB Leipzig left-sided center-back Josko Gvardiol is of interest, Chelsea is determined to get Jules Kounde from Sevilla to bolster their defense.

Following a good loan stint at Huddersfield, Levi Colwill may stake a claim, while Trevoh Chalobah will look to advance.

According to Tuchel at least, N'Golo Kante is the Kevin De Bruyne or Mo Salah of the Blues.

The Frenchman might still play a key role in Chelsea's midfield if he stays healthy.

Although the Blues might try to sell Jorginho and sign Rice from West Ham, Mateo Kovacic will still be available.

The England star now appears likely to give the Hammers another year, so signing him will be difficult.

Conor Gallagher might get a chance following a brilliant loan stint at Crystal Palace, while Mason Mount, who has primarily had to play in Tuchel's front three, might finally get to play in a deeper role.

If Chelsea can finalize deals for the wings Sterling and Dembele, their assault may be a far more intriguing one to watch next season.

With the latter player available for free, the Blues are the front-runners to sign both talents.

The shrewd Kai Havertz may take advantage of the space and opportunities afforded by a Sterling and Dembele attack to score a hat trick.
