As part of this year's Green Ghana Day, the executives and workers of Total Petroleum Ghana PLC planted trees alongside millions of other Ghanaians.

President Nana Akufo-Addo started the second iteration of the Green Ghana Day project with the goal of planting 20 million trees.

This is a component of the government's vigorous reforestation and afforestation initiative, which was established to lessen the impacts of climate change and deforestation on the nation.

Bright Dokosi, the Human Resources Manager of Total Petroleum Ghana PLC, and other staff members planted a total of 1000 saplings on a degraded reserve at CHIPA Forest in Agormeda to support this project.

"TotalEnergies' ambition is to place environmental performance at the heart of our projects and operations and pay particular attention to the use of the planet's natural resources," Bright Dokosi said in a speech read at the tree-planting exercise on behalf of the company's managing director, Olufemi Babajide.

Planting trees, according to Mr. Bright Dokosi, is one of the most crucial things we can do to improve the health of the world since it is a crucial step in reducing the effects of climate change.

"A healthy and safe environment is the road towards a happy, safe, and more advanced future," he further stated.

At a location overseen by the Forestry Commission, a further 5 hectares will be adopted in 2023.
