On Tuesday, June 21st, 2022, the paramount chief and elders of Akuapem Traditional Area in the Eastern Region cordially invited a powerful group from the National Health Insurance Authority to the palace (NHIA).

As part of a three-day working tour to the Eastern Region, the team headed by the NHIA Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, paid a courtesy visit to Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.

"We shall enhance the fraternal partnership between us and assist drive the NHIS to higher heights," Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III said in his blessing to the NHIA Chief Executive.

He said that the Traditional Council will work with the NHIA to increase public awareness of the NHIS Benefit Package.

Dr. Okoe-Boye, who hailed the famous Chief as a role model, declared that he was unable to conduct any local business without first paying the revered Chief a courtesy visit and getting his approval.

He aspired to gain more knowledge from the Akropong Omanhene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, and to profit from his wise leadership.

He appealed with the Chief and other important figures in the region to assist the NHIA's transformative vision by announcing the suggestion to construct a new NHIS Office in the Akuapem North District.

He also asked traditional leaders to be interested in and informed about significant NHIS initiatives.

Dr. Okoe-Boye revealed that he touched base to get closer earlier during a meeting with the Eastern Regional Minister.  "To increase awareness of the NHIS, we are attempting to establish extremely positive partnerships with several stakeholders. The five "D"s—digitization, dissemination, data, decentralisation, and development—are the focus of our current thrust."

In order to emphasise the need of using the Mobile Renewal Service *929# for membership renewals, he suggested that government officials emphasise NHIS issues in their remarks.

"We share your ambition to guarantee that all people in Ghana would enrol onto the NHIS and renew their membership utilising the Mobile Renewal platform," said the Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Achampong.

"We must engage in that advocacy. It is vital. That is the best chance we have of surviving. The Scheme's viability is crucial."

Kwarko, a Board member, Madam Joyce Zampare, Deputy Chief Executives for Administration and Human Resources Yaa Pokuaa Baiden (Mrs. ), Operations Deputy Chief Executive Vivian Addo-Cobbiah (Mrs. ), and Finance Deputy Chief Executive Francis Owusu made up the Chief Executive's high-powered delegation (Mr.).
