The striker was arrested in January
Following his rape arrest, MASON Greenwood will continue to be free on bond, the police announced today.
The 20-year-old United forward is still awaiting word on his destiny after being detained on charges of rape, assault, and threatening to kill.
The decision to answer Greenwood's bail was postponed until a court hearing; he was initially scheduled to do so on April 30.
The hearing took place yesterday, and Greenwood will continue to be released on bail, according to Greater Manchester Police.
According to a statement: "Following a hearing yesterday (Thursday, June 23, 2022), a 20-year-old male detained on Sunday, January 30, 2022, on suspicion of rape, assault, and making threats to kill remains on bail. Greater Manchester Police won't provide any more updates in this matter until the suspect is charged or freed facing no further action because the decision of bail reviews has no bearing on how investigations are progressing.
Following a police raid on Greenwood's residence in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, in January, he was detained for three nights. After being granted bail on February 2, he has maintained a relatively low profile ever since.
Up until the conclusion of any criminal procedures, the striker is still on Utd's suspension list but continues to get his £75,000 weekly wage.
Greenwood's position has not changed, and the club was previously compelled to issue a statement to that effect.
Utd first declared that it "would not condone violence of any type," but after police opened an investigation, Greenwood was suspended.
However, several sharp-eyed supporters noticed the player was still visible on the team's website, sparking rumors that he may be reinstated. There has been absolutely no change in Mason's status, according to the Utd statement.
Soon after he was dropped from the squad in January, we removed his profile from the club app.
"This was done to remove Mason from the app's interactive features, such team predictions, etc. He is still a Manchester player, even though he isn't currently on the team while the legal procedure is ongoing, hence his profile was never taken down from the website.
ARRESTING RAPE
Following the charges, Greenwood was sacked by sponsors Nike and was expelled from FIFA 22.
After their last winter update, Football Manager 2022 has also stated that he will not appear.
The No. 11's teammates have unfollowed him on Instagram and removed any products bearing his name from the official United website.
After his incarceration, Greenwood's potential domestic and international career is now in danger.
With five goals in the Premier League and one in the Champions League, the emerging star has made an impression on the field this year.
He joined the squad at the young age of six, and as he advanced through the levels, he eventually earned a regular berth on the first team.
When he hit the field at age 17 in 2019, he made history by being the youngest football player to represent United in the Champions League.
