Liverpool urged to sign £60m forward to put Mohamed Salah 'under pressure'
Raphinha, a winger for Leeds United, has being targeted by Stan Collymore's former team.
In an effort to put pressure on Mohamed Salah, former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has pushed his old team to acquire Raphinha from Leeds United.
Raphinha has been linked with a number of Premier League teams after two strong seasons at Elland Road since his transfer from Rennes in 2020, with Arsenal the most recent to be mentioned as a potential destination.
Following the January acquisition of Luis Diaz from Porto and the subsequent addition of Benfica talisman Darwin Nunez earlier this month, Liverpool's interest in the winger, who is allegedly valued in the £60m range by Leeds, appeared to diminish.
However, Collymore thinks Jurgen Klopp should make a move for the Brazilian international if he wants to extract even more out of Salah, who is coming off of yet another outstanding season, despite the fact that he has recently strengthened his attacking ranks.
He said: "The Reds will have one heck of a potential danger down the left or right with a promise of goals if he stays high up the pitch instead of drifting. If Jurgen Klopp can teach the lad how to play with greater tactical discipline. If you consider what Klopp did with Salah and Sadio Mane, you may infer that he could do the same with Raphinha.
What level of tactical knowledge did Mane possess before to joining Liverpool? Likewise, Salah may be the subject of the same inquiry. Although he has such incredible speed and has scored goals with Roma, he still needed refining to improve as a goal scorer in the Premier League. Salah is currently in the final year of his contract.
