CHELSEA could benefit from prior transfer efforts since they have a lot on their plate this summer.
As many as six players are apparently being sought by Chelsea during the summer transfer window in order to strengthen Thomas Tuchel's team. After Todd Boehly's partnership successfully acquired the Blues from Roman Abramovich, it is believed that they have a budget of about £200 million.
According to The Telegraph, Boehly personally assured Tuchel that there would be funding available to sign six new players after the team lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to free agency. Romelu Lukaku is set to return to Inter Milan on a season-long loan, while Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kepa Arrizabalaga,Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and others are uncertain Christian Pulisic.
Given that Abramovich loyalists Bruce Buck and Marina Granovskaia are both departing the club, Boehly, who is stepping in as a temporary chairman and director, has a lot of work on his hands. Tuchel, Champions League football, and a huge budget are all things Chelsea has going for them, which is fortunate.
However, these elements don't always work in your favor. Just ask Jose Mourinho, who, despite being dealt solid cards at the poker table of the transfer market, has faced denial as Chelsea's manager.

Rewind to the summer of 2013, when Mourinho was frantically trying to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United after the English striker and David Moyes had a falling out. According to reports, Rooney was pressing for a transfer after becoming "mad and bewildered" about claims that he will be Robin van Persie's understudy in the 2013–14 campaign.
Chelsea saw an opening and made an attempt to entice Rooney to west London, but the deal failed as tensions rose and negotiations were frequently leaked to the media. While on a preseason tour in Bangkok, Mourinho stated, "I think that this issue is evident - nothing is a secret anymore." "The formal bid is just for a specific sum of money and excludes players. We need the participant. After placing the bid, we are at a loss for words. Manchester United must now step up. When asked if it is now "Rooney or bust," Mourinho answered categorically: "Yes."

The Portuguese manager may not have used the most deft tactics, and his melancholy forecast was not at all accurate. Although they failed to land Rooney, Chelsea did sign a record-breaking 11 players that summer, including Willian, Nemanja Matic, Andre Schurrle, Mohamed Salah, and Kurt Zouma.
Despite United's terrible season and Moyes' short tenure as manager, Rooney remained at the club and ended the 2013–14 campaign as their top scorer overall. However, there was no improvement at Chelsea, where no awards were given out. Boehly and Tuchel should take this as a lesson to never put all of their eggs in one basket because the transfer window can be unpredictable.
That seems to have been considered because rumors indicate Chelsea is hedging their bets about Lukaku's replacement. Due to the dearth of elite strikers on the market and the diminished appeal of a classic No. 9 following Lukaku's disappointing year,Raheem Sterling, Ousmane Dembele, Richarlison, and Gabriel Jesus are just a few of the prospects the Blues are keeping an eye on.
With one year remaining on his contract, Sterling has emerged as Chelsea's top target at the moment. However, Boehly's Blues won't be adopting a "Sterling or bust" transfer philosophy.
