The Black Starlets ended the WAFU-B U17 tournament on a high after beating Ivory Coast 2-3 to win bronze in the third-place playoff.
Abdul Rashid Adam scored on the 9th minute to restore parity after the Ivorians took an early lead.
Ghana came into the second half strongly and got rewarded on the 57th when Richard Apokum slotted Ghana’s second goal of the day.
The Ivorians however fought back and equalized on the 72nd in the highly tensed match.
Two minutes into the added time, Abdul Razak Salifu grabbed the winner for Ghana with a delightful goal.
At the end of the tournament, the Ghanaian team were received bronze medals by officials of WAFU officials.
Nigeria emerged as winners of the tournament after beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final match played on Friday evening.
The Nigerians and Burkinabe players and officials also received gold and silver medals respectively.
