In light of current security and terrorist concerns, Mr. Vadm. Ibok-Ete Ekwe, the Nigerian High Commissioner in Accra, has advocated for the strengthening of the friendly relations between Ghana and Nigeria.

In order to combat security threats brought on by terrorist activity, he said it was important for the residents of the two nations to routinely contact, maintain their friendly relations, and cooperate more responsibly.

The call was made by the Nigerian High Commissioner on Thursday while he was visiting Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister, in his office with a team from the Nigerian Community in Wa.

The Commissioner, who is in the area for two days, will meet with the Nigerian community to hear about their issues and difficulties with their stay, as well as to find out how many Nigerians are in the area.

The High Commissioner emphasised the need for inhabitants of the two nations to pay attention to and express concern for development concerns in addition to the security difficulties.

Mr. Ekwe Ibas urged investors in the two nations to work together and engage in profitable sectors that may boost commerce and services and raise living standards.

According to Dr. Bin Salih, the Nigerian community in the area followed the law and got along well with locals without showing any bias.

To benefit our employees, he remarked, "We need to improve our relationships and make it more effective."

Regarding security, Dr. Bin Salih stated that despite threats from terrorists in the neighbouring country of Burkina Faso, the area had remained rather tranquil.

He said that the security organisations in the area were trying to maintain the current tranquilly so that people may go about their daily lives without fear or interference.

The Nigerian community in the area, according to Mr. Ken Amaraegbu, had a good integration with the locals and were coexisting like family.

He said that because they followed the law and had no issues with local or governmental officials, Nigerians in the area were quite secure.
