Liverpool 'prepared to let Mohamed Salah leave' as summer price tag emerges

Mo Salah and Liverpool have been locked in contract talks for months and failure to find an agreement could see the Reds cash in this summer if the right offer comes in Mo Salah may have played his last game for Liverpool ( Image: CameraSport via Getty Images) Liverpool could let Mohamed Salah leave Anfield this summer with his future still uncertain, according to reports. The Reds have already seen Sadio Mane depart Merseyside and Salah could now follow suit as his contract situation remains unresolved. The Egyptian has 12 months left on his deal and will be able to leave the club for nothing next summer. As a result Liverpool may be force to cash in should a suitable offer arrive with negotiations continuing to drag on. A fee of £60m is believed to be close to the club's valuation given Salah's circumstances, reports The Sun. The 30-year-old joined in 2017 and has been hugely prolific ever since, picking up another Golden Boot last term. But Salah is seeking a major pay bump to reflect his importance at Anfield. Liverpool have long adhered to a strict wage structure and are seemingly reluctant to break it. That may well have cost them Mane and now Salah could depart as a result. Top earners at the Reds earn around £220,000-a-week, but the forward wants to see his wages rise to a reported £400,000-a-week. With talks set to drag on, and no clear resolution in sight, Liverpool may be forced to cut their losses this summer. Real Madrid are among those tracking the situation as they eye their next Galactico. They missed out on Kylian Mbappe this summer but have the lure of being European Champions having seen off Liverpool and Salah in the final in Paris. Florentino Perez has no plans to sign a striker, but Salah's role as a wide forward makes him an attractive proposition. Salah had recently claimed he would remain for a further 12 months, but gave no guarantees beyond that. He said: "I have a contract until season so I'll be staying until then." He was then quizzed on whether that meant he would sign a new deal, but replied: "No, not yet, nothing at all." Liverpool have already signed Darwin Nunez for a club-record fee as they look to replace Mane whilst they also have Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz on their books. Jurgen Klopp's frontline once picked itself, but there is a changing on the guard currently occurring. Salah though remains at the peak of his powers, recently picking up several individual accolades including the PFA Player of the Year award. The Egyptian scored 31 times in all competitions as the Reds claimed two domestic trophies, but missed out on the Premier League and Champions League. Read More Read More
