Timo Werner of Germany has been linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge, barely two years after joining Chelsea from RB Leipzig in a £47.5 million deal.
Chelsea forward Timo Werner is reportedly open to a move to Juventus, with the Blues considering including him in a deal to bring Matthijs de Ligt to west London.
De Ligt is one of several centre-backs linked with a move to Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel looks to improve his team's defensive options. Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are both on the move after playing significant minutes last season.
After helping Ajax reach the Champions League semi-finals and defeating his current club, the Dutch international cost Juve €75 million (£64.5 million) in 2019. However, as Chelsea considers a deal for the 22-year-old, they may decide to split ways with Werner in order to complete the transaction.
According to Sky Italy (via Metro), Chelsea is willing to pay €45 million plus Werner for De Ligt. The Blues forward will almost certainly have to take a pay cut if he moves to Turin, but Werner is thought to be receptive to the notion. The fact that he is not ruling out taking a pay reduction to join Juventus shows how serious he is about the move.
Juve's need for striking reinforcements comes as Alvaro Morata is allegedly close to joining a team in the Premier League. The former Chelsea striker has been heavily linked with Arsenal, and Max Allegri's team is apparently considering Werner as a replacement.
Werner has been in and out of the Chelsea first squad since joining for £47.5 million from RB Leipzig. In two seasons at the London club, the Germany international has scored 23 goals, although just 10 of them have come in the Premier League.
If Werner does wind up leaving as part of a deal for De Ligt, Chelsea may search for attacking reinforcements. Romelu Lukaku is set to return to previous club Inter Milan on loan, while owner Todd Boehly is willing to allow Hakim Ziyech depart west London.
Raphinha has been mooted as a possible target, but the Leeds star is not cheap. Jesse Marsch's side are rumoured to be holding out for £65 million for the Brazil international, with other Premier League teams, including Barcelona, interested.
Richarlison of Everton has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, while Raheem Sterling of Manchester City is thought to be open to a move.
Long-term goal Jules Kounde remains a possibility, with Tuchel keeping an eye on the Sevilla centre-back. A summer move for Declan Rice may not happen, with West Ham United reportedly rejecting a proposal for the England international.
