Previous Argentine football star Carlos Tevez started his coaching profession on Friday with a 1-0 loss at home to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
Tevez, who rose to notoriety as a striker for Boca Juniors, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus, assumed control north of several days prior as the lead trainer for Rosario Central, a well known group from the region of Santa Fe needing conquering a losing streak that has left them close to the lower part of the association.
"I delighted in it a ton, it's another inclination that I lost as a player and today as a coach everything returned to me," Tevez said at a press gathering despite the loss.
The "Canalla," as Central is known, showed signs of progress from previous losses in its first game under Tevez. The club verged on scoring in the first half from striker Lucas Gamba.
In the second half, Gimnasia found an opening to score in the 79th moment after a long pass from Uruguayan Brahian Aleman came to Paraguayan Ramon Rosa, hitting an easy goal.
The game was played at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium before some 40 000 fans who, after the loss, were split among applause and disapproval.
"I loved the group, I'm pleased with my players. We need to progress forward with this same way, we are persuaded that this is the correct way," said Tevez after the loss.
"The one to blame, when we lose, will always be me. Despite the fact that individuals have left sad, I accept that this is the correct approach," he added.
With the loss, Central stayed in 23rd spot out of 28 teams in the Argentine association, with four points from one win, one tie and three losses.
With the success, Gimnasia arrived at the highest point of the standings with 11 wins, one over Newell's Old Boys and two above Boca Juniors, Platense and Banfield.
